About Grace Dental Clinic

We are a general dental practice in North York. This page explains who we look after, how the visits run, and what to expect when you get here.

The practice

A neighbourhood clinic that keeps long hours

Grace Dental Clinic sits at Unit C, 3005 Islington Avenue, North York, ON M9L 2K9. It is a general practice, which means the everyday care most people need is done here rather than referred out.

We see patients from North York, Etobicoke, Brampton, Vaughan and Mississauga. People come to us from further out too, usually because of the hours. Open seven days a week. Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Opening every day is a practical decision, not a slogan. It means a parent can bring a child after school, a shift worker can come at eight in the evening, and a family can take a Sunday appointment without anyone missing work.

One roof

Why the range of care matters to a family

A household rarely needs one kind of dentistry. A child needs a checkup, a parent has a cracked filling, a grandparent needs a denture looked at. When all of that happens in one clinic, the records sit together and nobody starts from scratch.

The same file, over years

We can see what was done, when, and why. A crack we watched three years ago is not a mystery when it finally needs a crown.

It also means fewer repeated X-rays, because the earlier images are already here.

Appointments that fit together

Two people from one household can often be booked side by side, so one trip covers both. Ask the front desk and they will look for two slots together.

This is easier to arrange on a weekday evening or at the weekend than at nine in the morning.

Comfort and pacing

If you are nervous, or if you need more time

Plenty of adults have not been to a dentist in years because of one bad appointment a long time ago. That is common, and it is worth saying out loud when you book. It changes how we run the visit.

We can book a longer appointment so nothing is rushed. We explain each step before we do it, and we agree a hand signal that stops us. If you want to come once just to talk and look, with nothing done that day, that is a reasonable way to start.

Seniors are a primary audience for this practice. Appointments can be booked longer and slower on request. Older patients often need to talk through dry mouth, medication, denture fit or decay at the gum line, and that conversation takes time rather than speed.

Appointments run in English. You are welcome to bring a family member or an interpreter, and it helps to tell the front desk in advance.

Equipment

What the equipment actually does for you

Digital X-rays appear on the screen in a few seconds, so you are not sitting in the chair waiting for a film to be developed. It also means we can turn the screen towards you and point at the thing we are talking about, which is a much better conversation than a description.

An intraoral camera does the same job for the surface of a tooth. If we say a filling is leaking at the edge, you can see the edge. You are then deciding about your own tooth with the same picture we are looking at.

Images are only taken when there is a reason for them. Being able to take one quickly is not a reason to take one.

The team

Meet the team

This is where the dentists, hygienists and front desk staff will be introduced, with their professional titles and registration details set out correctly.

We would rather leave this section honest and empty for now than fill it with something approximate. Until the clinic confirms the names, titles and registrations, no clinician is named anywhere on this site.

If you want to know who will be treating you before you come in, call the front desk on (416) 744-6323 and ask. They will tell you.

Getting here

Access, and what to tell us in advance

Tell us when you book if you use a wheelchair, a walker or another mobility aid, and we will set the appointment up around it.

Tell the front desk when you book if you need a ground floor room, a longer appointment, help getting from the door to the chair, or if someone is coming with you. None of that is unusual and it is easier to arrange in advance than on the day.

If you would like to check the way in to Unit C before you travel, call and ask. Somebody will talk you through it so you are not looking for it on the day.
